Snowy Engagement Session on Lake George at The Sagamore Resort | Madison & Dylan
I’m so excited to be sharing this gorgeous winter engagement session with you! Madison and Dylan are tying the knot this summer at the Lake George Club. As we began to plan their engagement session, they mentioned the idea of a wintery snow-filled engagement session on Lake George. I absolutely loved the idea of being able to capture them along the same lake twice, in different seasons, so we began to watch the weather and plan.
The night before their session, we lucked out with a snowstorm. So, the day of their portraits, we weren’t able to get super close to the water – which turned out to be perfectly fine! I was just so happy with all of the white snow everywhere, it was absolutely amazing to photograph – like a big soft box. We decided to meet up at the Sagamore Resort, an old historic resort on the lake. Madison, Dylan, and I all agreed it has some of the best views around Lake George. If I’m being honest, I’m also a bit of a sucker for a beautiful white building. I always think they make a great backdrop!
For their session, Madison and Dylan chose two different looks. I’m seriously in awe of Madison – despite all the snow and wet grounds, she was a real trooper in heels and she looked incredible the whole session! I loved how cozy they both looked in their winter jackets. It might not seem like much, but it really brought a lot to their portraits. Madison changed into a second outfit later in the session – a gorgeous outfit with big puff sleeves. It was super cold, so I didn’t want to push her too long… but she looked amazing and just grinned through it all! Honestly, both of them were great - I can’t believe how many genuine smiles and laughs the delivered in the freezing cold. It’s true that love keeps you warm!
In the end, I loved every minute of this cold, wintery engagement session around Lake George. Madison and Dylan are my dream clients – ready to brave the chilly weather, all in the name of art.
I can’t wait for their big day. In the meantime, enjoy a little peek of their winter portraits!
